Athens is the capital and the largest city of Greece. Is one of the oldest cities in the world with the recorded history with up to 3,200 BC. Modern Athens is the center of economic, financial, industrial,political and cultural life in Greece.  Athens and Piraeus are the two major urban center of Attica. Athens are two UNESCO World Heritage of UNESCO, the Acropolis and the medieval Daphni Monastery. Attractions in the modern era, dating from the establishment of Athens as the capital of the independent Greek state in 1834, include the Hellenic Parliament (19th century) and the Athens Trilogy consisting of the National Library, the University and the Academy. Athens hosted the first  modern Olympics in 1896 and 108 years later, welcomed their return to the Summer

The cobblestone streets, the whitewashed stairs and the narrow streets of the walk, each year, millions of tourists from around the world. 

MONASTIRAKI AREA
