7 day Cruise – 6 Greek islands and Istanbul
with Celestyal Cruises
All
the paperwork is done, you took the necessary pictures with our
mascot, you got on board, found your luggage at the door of your
cabin and decided to explore the ship before departure. Now you are
enjoying your coffee in one of the ship's decks. The siren signals
the ship's departure and you know you
are about to experience an amazing cruise in eastern Mediterranean.
The cruise of a lifetime!
The
first destination is Istanbul, with
the incredible culture, the imposing monuments, the undeniable charm
and the mazy souks. Your eyes
witness scattered architectural jewels from the Byzantine and the
Ottoman era, awaiting for you to explore, touch and feel. From the
cosmopolitan town of Kusadasi
and after you have visited the local indoor
souk you can't miss the town of
Ancient Ephesus.
At a mere distance of 19 kilometers, it's definitely worth visiting
this well preserved ancient city,
which is one of the biggest open archaeological museums of the world.
The
rugged, almost primitive beauty of Santorini
will bedazzle you from the moment we will reach the famous Caldera.
You will then discover the magic of the black
rock beaches, the
cave houses, the
lighthouses and the
steep cliffs that submerge into the azure waters that sparkle under
the hot Mediterranean sun. You
will feel it! In the beautiful town of Agios
Nikolaos you will experience the
warm Cretan hospitality and have the chance to visit the scenic
villages of the prefecture of Lasithi, the monasteries and the famous
islet of Spinalonga.
After
the earthy Cretan aura you will travel back to Medieval times in
Rhodes! Knights, palaces, well
preserved citadels and a history of 2,400
years
that still excites and intrigues thousands of visitors. The next
destination is the charming islet of Symi,
whose capital resembles a theatrical stage. A
stage filled with traditional settlements, mansions and a rich
maritime history.
Chios,
which is allegedly the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, Homer and
many others, is the most divinely fragrant island of eastern Aegean,
with the mastic trees and
the vineyards,
the well preserved medieval
villages and the lovely, secluded,
pristine beaches.
Before you bid goodbye to all the friends you 've made during the
cruise, in our lounges, casino and restaurants, you will have the
opportunity to see the famous island of Mykonos.
See up close the iconic windmills, take a stroll in the narrow
cobblestoned streets that lead to traditional settlements and the
port, see the dazzling white, boxy houses, Little Venice and the ever
famous Cycladic sunset. Have a safe
trip and Welcome aboard!

Agios Nektarios and the archaeological site of Kolona. If you are
anxious travelers who enjoy exploring routes beyond the usual, we
suggest Ancient Olive Grove of Aegina. A nature monument that hosts
perennial vegetation and nonetheless the tourists still exclude it from
the lists!
Historical January in Aegina - Ioannis Kapodistrias, the first Greek Governor

capital of the Greek state, Aegina. It is certainly a great moment in
the Metropolis of the island.
Ideas for souvenirs on your trip to the Argosaronic Gulf

it may be, is not about if you have had fun. It also includes souvenirs
on your trip, which you put in your suitcases and remind you of the
place you visited.
The Lemon Forest of Poros

famous for its homonym short story by Kosmas Politis. But also for its
significant economic importance. According to records, before 1821, they
were exporting lemons to the area. They supplied Constantinople, Izmir,
Thessaloniki. Therefore. In addition to being a beautiful place to
browse, the Lemon Forest is also a part of the natural beauty that has
supported the economy of the whole region.
Local flavors of Aegina - Pistachio
Like any other place, the special flavors of Aegina are based on its
own traditional products. And a key staple of local Aegean cuisine could
be no other than pistachio.
Pistachios
Its cultivation started in 1920 on the island and only in 1994 the
product became PDO (Protected Designation of Origin). Two years later,
his name was officially published in the European Union newspaper. The
Aeginians put the peanut in all their recipes. They make spoon sweets
and jams, biscuits and nuts. In addition they make syrupy pastries,
croissants, cookies, pastels and liqueurs, chocolates, peanut butter,
pistachio pistachio and pistachio, ie a liqueur-flavored pistachio
paste.
If you visit Aegina and go out for a
meal, you will find that the pistachio has invaded many traditional
recipes that fit perfectly. Feel free to try a pistachio dish, it will
surprise you. As for the Pistachio Festival,
it takes place on the island every year in early September and if you
are there you will have the opportunity to try it in all versions. And
of course shopping for traditional products that you find anyway
throughout the year.
Mountain greens
Nutmeg, zucchini, cardamides, porridge,
are some of the names of the greens that grow in Aegina that the locals
collect to make delicious pies.
Tsigara
It is a spice made from the top of fresh milk.
Geremezi
It is a fresh, creamy goat cheese and has a sour but rich taste. It
used to be prepared in spring and summer, but now you can find it and
ask for it easily.
Katsoula

However, it is located in Aegina, where they fish because of the
special composition of its waters.
Retsina of Aegina
Together with the rosettes and sabbaticals they are mainly produced
for local consumption. Bulk for sale you can find if you take a stroll
in the vineyards of Mesagros.

The miraculous Saint Nektarios of Aegina
Saint Nektarios of Aegina
It is one of the largest orthodox
monasteries in Greece and throughout the Balkans. The Holy Trinity
Monastery with the church of Agios Nektarios is one of the top sights in
Aegina. It attracts believers who want to worship, pray, and heal.
Whether you are a fan of religious tourism or not, it is worth visiting if you are on the island. HYDRA.
“The originality of the Hydra Island is displayed by the atmosphere
on it with no cars allowed on the island. Everyone including locals and
visitors move around Hydra either by foot or on a donkey – the main
transportation here.”
Hydra Island is one of the Saronic islands, close to Athens.
It is considered the most cosmopolitan, and many celebrities from Greece
and abroad own houses here, or spend their vacations on this pretty
island.
Hydra island is a very popular tourist destination, mainly due to its
picturesque old town with its red tiled houses and narrow stone-paved
streets. Once a major seafaring community, these days the islands wealth
mainly comes from tourism, but fishermen and farmers can still be
found. Because of its close proximity to Athens, many islanders go there
to find work during the winter months.
In the 1950s the film Boy on a Dolphin was filmed on the island, and
ever since an array of artists, writers and celebrities set up home on
this little island off the Peloponnesian coast.
The town of Hydra is amphitheatrically arranged within a close bay
situated approximately at the middle of the northern coast of the
island. The town is surrounded by bare rocks and steep mountains. The
first impression of the visitor as the ship reaches the port is the
image of the High Impressive Old Mansions overlooking the town. What
follows is the view of the Old Defensive Bastions with their canons on
site, still protecting the town from remote and forgotten enemies. The
spectacle is completed with the uncountable Boats and Yachts from any
place of the world, mooring at the port. Contact
